TELESEMINAR ON INFIDELITY: AFTER AN AFFAIR, WHO OWNS THE RELATIONSHIP?
After An Affair, Who Owns the Relationship?
June 24, 2013
Noon-1:00pm PDT (or anytime, via recording)
Cellphone records, email
passwords, intimate details of when and where--after an affair, does one
person gain the right to whatever information they want? Does the
unfaithful person have to leave the house if the angry party demands it?
Who decides if the children get told--and what they're told?
It's hard to maintain a
systems perspective when a patient wants us to simply see a selfish
betrayer and a heartbroken betrayed, or a deprived, desperate partner
and an indifferent, withholding mate. To explore fresh ways of looking
at affairs & fidelity, we'll examine:
Should the betrayed acquire power as a result of being betrayed?
How can we get couples in conflict to reconcile as partners?
How can we help couples draw and maintain boundaries around their wounded relationship?
What are the existential issues confronting both parties after an affair--and why is it crucial to address these?
phone seminar is June 24, noon-1pm PDT. The fee includes a recording of
the call--plus 30 downloadable slides--so if you can't make it in real
time, you can listen at your convenience!
